Then of course Sigma came out with what seemed to be a slightly better lens. Whatever, I picked up the original Tamron not too long after it was released. Focal Length Range Choosing the right focal length or focal length range is of utmost importance for lens selection as the focal length determines the perspective and framing combination. Why would the Tamron be useful only on the D7100? Shouldn't it work equally well on a D5100? The Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary Lens is remarkably similar to the HSM Art lens and brings the same advantages to the native Sony E-mount. (I knew Sigma can be used on both my cameras and Tamron only on D7100). Is any one familiar with Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM Zoom Lens (Contemporary) and Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 Zoom lens? Which one is better? Please give me suggestions and advice. I am an amateur and like to take birds photos, and have a budget of $1500.
